Costas Charalampidis is a Technical Producer with an accumulated experience of approximately 40 years, having held Technical Director positions in some of the most prestigious organizations and institutions, in Greece and abroad.
He holds a Technical Electrical Engineer degree, with further specialized training at the Pompidou Centre in Paris on the operation of multi-purpose halls, and at Covent Garden and Queen Elizabeth Hall in London on Stage & Production Management. He has acted as a Technical Director at the European Cultural Centre of Delphi and at the Athens and Epidaurus Festival, among other Organizations, while maintaining a Consultancy role in numerous institutions (Greek National Opera, Greek National Theatre, Thessaloniki Concert Hall and ERT). He was appointed Technical Director for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies in "Athens 2004" Olympic World Summer Games, Technical Producer for both World Summer Special Olympic Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies, held in Athens in 2011 and the Olympics Medals Plaza of the “Sochi 2014” Olympic World Winter Games.
Since 1991 he holds the position of Technical Director at the Athens Concert Hall and has been in charge of technical and production implementation for more than 15.000 events. Costas has collaborated with renowned foreign and Greek directors and set designers, including Bob Wilson, Costa Gavras, Theo Angelopoulos, Yiannis Kokkos, Prof. D. Michael Hampe, Roberto Plate, Dr. Helmut Drese, Ι. Neumeir, Pina Bausch, Gregorovic, M. Bezar, Barisnikof, Nikos Georgiades, Stefanos Lazaridis, Michael Cacoyannis, Dionyssis Fotopoulos, Dimitris Papaioannou and many others.
