View Master Events undertook the technical production of τhe Opening Ceremony of the 2023 Eleusis European Capital of Culture, held on February 4-5. It was a monumental event for Elefsina, Greece, and Europe. Conceptualized by Artistic Director Michail Marmarinos and directed by the British director Chris Baldwin, the event attracted over 15,000 attendees in-person and an estimated 3 million television viewers via ERT's broadcast.

The event which began with diferrent processions  entering the city followed by  inaugurational speeches and culminated in the emergence of a 22-meter-long, 10-ton metal sculpture at the Elefsina waterfront -accompanied by music from Marina Satti’s 122 CHÓRES.

Following the ceremony, visitors explored a unique cultural trail along the city’s coastal front, featuring 19 diverse activities, including experimental projects, performances, and installations in unconventional spaces like rooftops, taverns, and garages, creating a vibrant and unforgettable celebration

The production entailed:

• A team of 68 production experts - 45 Broadcast and Documentation specialists - 35 qualified technicians and 25 skilled stagehand.
• 28 cameras - 3 cine cranes - 2 drones - 4 live feeds from different parts of the city and the ceremony
• 4 OB Vans - 5 post production units - 5 SNG units - 4 cinematography units
• 8 large LED screens - more than 200 hi end lighting fixtures - more than 100 concert loudspeakers
